What if anger is the destination?

Reader, you’ve heard it for years… I invite you to “Cultivate Health Harmony and Happiness.”

All that sounds lovely, but is it really realistic?

I believe it is.
But maybe not in the sense that you picture it.

It's not unicorns and rainbows.

It's a body and mind that can move from stressed to calm… and find peace even in the hard stuff, without bypassing the hard stuff.

But to get there, you have to also access the muck.

The dirty.
The gritty.
The yucky stuff that makes you angry.

If you are seeking the calm, you have to know where you’re coming from.

What if the calm isn’t just where it’s at?

What if anger is also the destination?

That the calm isn’t the thing we aspire to attain all the time, but instead to experience discomfort and pain also so that the moments of calm are that much sweeter?

We need both.

The fire + the water.
The yang + the yin.
The masculine + the feminine.

They work together to teach us our depths.

Not to numb or bypass or disconnect in a fit of unchecked rage, but instead to give you the wholeness of life’s experiences.

To let you learn to experience what “complete” feels like.

If you feel like a part of you has been silenced.
Shut down.
Quieted.

And if you're noticing any of these show up in your life and impact your relationships…

😡Resentment|
🤬Lashing out
😠Bitterness
🧐Cynicism

…you may need Sacred Rage Embodiment.

Space to feel your anger through practices that allow you to access it in a safe environment where you won’t hurt your relationships.

But instead strengthen them.

By descending inward to reconnect with parts of you that avoiding your anger has disconnected you from.

The Summer Fire: Kindling and Connecting with Your Sacred Rage Solstice Celebration of Rhythms Retreat is the space for you to do that.

Here’s what to expect:

  • 🍫 Cacao ceremony to open the container and arrive together
  • 🌿 Somatic and active movement practices outdoors
  • 🔥 Teaching and embodied exploration of Sacred Rage
  • 🎭 Mask work: Uncovering what you show the world and what lives underneath
  • 💥 A ritual release: Breaking open what no longer serves you
  • 🌕 Small group witnessing and heart-centered connection
  • ✨ Closing anointing ceremony and fire pit gathering

I’m honestly so excited to bring you through this work.
I’ve been practicing it in my own life and have noticed better access to my voice.

Speaking my truth.
Setting boundaries.
Cultivating stronger relationships without guilt or shame.

Join me on Saturday, June 20 here.

Cheers,

Did someone forward this to you? Subscribe here.

I can hold both - the fire and the water, the anger and the calm.

Rhythm Reset - For naturally caffeinated humans who find it hard to power down

I’m Cathy—a naturally caffeinated person recovering from racing through life. As a yoga teacher and trauma-aware somatic and breath coach, I teach stress resilience & nervous system regulation so you can move through life with more ease, intention, & connection. This is a space for naturally-(& even artificially) caffeinated people to find inspiration to slow down, tune in, and center themselves... living with more ease and intention in alignment with the rhythms within and around them.

Harvest Rhythms Retreat

I woke with a headache yesterday morning. Five minutes into my somatic yoga practice and I didn’t notice it anymore. I’m not someone who usually gets headaches but over the past 3-5 months, they’ve been happening more and more. They’re not debilitating, but still not enjoyable. Reader, I gave myself 10 minutes, then knew resting more wasn't going to fix this one, so stepped on my mat. It was a day I knew I could not skip because I was teaching a Yoga Flow class later that morning, and knew I...

Rhythm Reset Newsletter heading

By the end of the day you are exhausted. Kids in bed, pets taken care of, kitchen {mostly} cleaned up. Hardly enough energy to have a conversation with your partner let alone pour back into yourself with something like a restorative Yin Yoga practice or even simpler, a basic breath work practice to prepare you for sleep. Not only is your body fatigued, your brain is mush. Instead of feeling settled and ready for a peaceful night sleep, you still feel that scribbly energy inside. I see you,...

Pedicured feet relaxing

It’s always been a wish of mine, Reader, to get regular manicures and pedicures, but I’ve always kind of thought that getting your nails done was frivolous. A luxury. And a vain attempt at self care. Until I was sitting in the manicure chair and tears started streaming down my face as my heart was bursting with an overwhelming sense of gratitude and awe. I rarely go to a salon to get my toes done – it’s a treat for me mostly because I don’t have a lot of extra cash laying around for things...
