These are a few of my favorite things

Hey Reader,

This summer has definitely been different for me... staying home with my kids and low key running my business, which basically means as far as running the business, I’m prioritizing teaching class and getting this newsletter out (which is proving to be tricky since our internet has been out for pretty much the entire month of August)… oh, and watering the plants inside and out at the studio when I’m there.

But that also means that we’re only 4 weeks out from the Harvest Rhythms Retreat on September 26…yikes!!

So next week I’m going to be sending just 3 little emails about the retreat. If you’re not interested or it’s not the right timing for you to do some of the deeper work on yourself that we do at these retreats, that's OK! I get it and look forward to the time when it is right.

To opt-out of those 3 emails, but still get the regular Rhythm Reset emails, just click here.

If you already know you want to sign up for the retreat, you can do that here👇.

Plus, check the "P.S." below for a nifty little coupon code to save a little on the retreat.

This code is only for you all here on my list because I love hanging out with you here and am grateful for you.

Speaking of loving having you here, I want to share just a little about why I love working in this particular industry in the first place.

You see, it’s more than yoga that we do around here. It’s self-exploration, transformation, community and most importantly (in my book), CONNECTION.

First and foremost, I love working with people like you who are naturally caffeinated and have a hard time powering down because I, too, am one of those people.

Yes, you heard that right, I AM one of those people, not just some blissed out guru trying to lead you down a path that I haven't been down before.

I’m walking this path of building my capacity for moving between stressful life and calm life just like you are (maybe you haven’t even realized yet that you can indeed access the calm parts also🤷‍♀️, and that’s OK… that’s why you’re here!).

I'm not perfect at it, but I figured out long ago when I started practicing yoga that there was something different about how I felt when I did the practice and practices similar to it.

That difference was presence.

What this means for naturally caffeinated people, and why it keeps me doing cartwheels🤸‍♀️, is that when you add presence to your already get-shit-done personality, you’re actually able to get more done in a deeper context and feel just as fulfilled, if not better, than simply checking things off your list.

Since discovering that, I’ve gotten to create classes, workshops, retreats (like the Harvest Rhythms Retreat👆) and community that meet you where you are and empower you to live from authenticity rather than from what the world thinks you should be doing.

I’ve had students and clients
🤓Create businesses they’ve longed to create for years
🦸‍♀️Quit jobs that make them feel empty
🥰Speak their truth in relationships rather than staying silent
🛌Finally have relief from chronic body discomforts like poor sleep, shoulder pain, and dizziness, to name a few.

Celebrating those wins with them makes my heart sing long after they leave the studio, workshop, or Zoom call.

Of course I got into all this because I knew that mindful movement made me feel different than any other workout I’d ever done and I wanted to hold onto that feeling and understand the “why” behind it. And while I thought it was just about the movement, it was actually about so much more.

It was about me reconnecting with parts of myself I had inadvertently shut down or disconnected from. And by doing so, I was creating space to connect with others differently and give others that same opportunity through teaching, coaching and facilitating.

Humans were made to be in connection.
To be seen. Witnessed. Held by each other in community.

That’s more than just movement on a mat. It’s creating a lifestyle that brings us into connection with ourselves, each other, and the world around us.

That is what living in rhythm is all about.

Presence
Authenticity
Connection

Values that I didn’t even know I needed when I started this business, but that have become the guiding principles that keep me supporting others in doing this work.

Now I want to know why you’re here… what is it about this email list or the wellness industry that you love?

Write me back and fill me in; I’d love to hear your words.

Cheers,

P.S. Here’s that discount code I alluded to earlier -> $30 off retreat registration. Just use the coupon 30OFF at checkout.

Rhythm Reset - For naturally caffeinated humans who find it hard to power down

I’m Cathy—a naturally caffeinated person recovering from racing through life. As a yoga teacher and trauma-aware somatic and breath coach, I teach stress resilience & nervous system regulation so you can move through life with more ease, intention, & connection. This is a space for naturally-(& even artificially) caffeinated people to find inspiration to slow down, tune in, and center themselves... living with more ease and intention in alignment with the rhythms within and around them.

Grounding Body Scan for Overwhelm

It happened again. We were just under two weeks out from my seasonal retreat and I started feeling a bit anxious. So many things swirling around in my head that the overwhelm wanted to creep in. I started with a brain dump, and it allowed me to see what needed to happen so I could knock a few things off the list pretty quickly and get some direction. While processing a few of The Weekly Breath Reset classes that I needed to catch up on, I took 10 minutes to listen to this one: Grounding Body...

Walking Nervous System Reset

Reader, I had this banging quick email for you all today ready on Monday, except for one thing… The Grounding Body Scan for Overwhelm meditation I uploaded to Insight Timer with the intent of it being approved easy peasy in a day or so as they usually are, is still “waiting for approval” in my teacher dashboard within IT. BLAH!! The one time I’m ready to have everything scheduled for the newsletter by Monday evening (my ideal hope each week that rarely comes true), and I’m stuck waiting on...

Hugs Healing Empowerment

Hey Reader, I was at church recently when I heard this sweet 10 year old boy’s voice behind me say to his dad “Can I get a hug?”. I so badly wanted to turn around and say “way to go, buddy,” but that would have ruined the moment. Asking for hugs can be hard. It means we have to admit vulnerability. Whether it’s because you’ve messed up or just need the safety of someone else’s presence (and regulated nervous system) to help you feel better, the humility it takes to ask to be comforted can be...
