Light a candle. Then read this.

I just got done with Guided Self-Practice.

It’s weird to be going back to this style of teaching and will take me a bit of time to adjust.

For instance...
I have to let go of the order in which postures are put together (sort of, I still give some guidance).

Students have to unlearn the rigidity of being told what to do and when.

To help them experience yoga in the self-led way, I created a new system, the Find Your Flow Personal Yoga Practice Workbook, that will be available to those outside the studio soon, but for now, we are playing with it and making adjustments as we work through it.

Ultimately it’s empowering you to listen inward to what your body needs in the moment and trust it instead of expecting someone else to tell you what’s right or wrong.

It’s a little like what we do at Rhythms Retreats, just on a different level.

But before you read on, Reader, try this…

Light a candle, or just picture one.
Take three slow breaths.
Ask yourself: what is ready to be set down before this year ends?

What’s the first answer that comes up?
That’s the one to listen to.

That’s a Rhythm Reset in one minute.

Now picture a whole evening of it.

Your body and the rhythm of nature hold immense wisdom.

Yet when life just keeps life-ing, it’s hard to align with that wisdom unless someone else holds space for you.

That’s what Candlelight Yoga Winter Solstice is all about.
The space for you to be guided back to yourself and nature.

Friday, December 18.
A greenhouse lit by twinkling lights.
We move, breathe, and set some little intentions for the coming year.

You also leave with the Find Your Rhythm Deck, Daily Rhythms Tracker, and Workbook so the seasonal cycle keeps going after the night ends.

Only 21 spots.

Something special is coming Black Friday weekend. Rhythm Reset readers get it first.

Want in? Hit reply with the word “candle,” and I’ll put you on my early list.

Oh, and that little practice above?

If nothing comes up or if millions of things come up, you need a bigger Res{e}t.
Time to reconnect with yourself… to calm the overstimulation and quiet the overthinking mind.

More time with practices that will cultivate the opposite of that loop you feel stuck in.

You’ll get there. Doing the work to unwind does work. I believe in you.💚

Cheers,

Cathy

P.S. Everyone on the early list sees the Black Friday price first. Hit reply with “candle” and I’ll add you.

Rhythm Reset - For naturally caffeinated humans who find it hard to power down

I’m Cathy—a naturally caffeinated person recovering from racing through life. As a yoga teacher and trauma-aware somatic and breath coach, I teach stress resilience & nervous system regulation so you can move through life with more ease, intention, & connection. This is a space for naturally-(& even artificially) caffeinated people to find inspiration to slow down, tune in, and center themselves... living with more ease and intention in alignment with the rhythms within and around them.

Excited Jazz Hands

Every month I take a Res{e}t Week at the studio. White space on my calendar without classes, without appointments for the most part. It's my time to reconnect with myself and get out of the monotony that might otherwise happen when teaching the same schedule every week. It's time for a change. Next week during Res{e}t week (November 1 - 7), things will look a bit different. Instead of me just not offering classes at the studio, we'll go back and revisit the way I taught when I first opened my...

Faling Asleep When Your Mind Won't Slow Down Meditation

I probably don’t have to tell you this, but I’m going to anyway so you have reassurance you’re not alone. When you’re a naturally caffeinated person, it seems like your mind actually speeds up at night when you lay your head down to fall asleep. 👆👆👆👆 Yep, I know, Reader. It happens to me too. So years ago I started saying some affirmations as I fell asleep to remind my body mind it was safe to settle and let sleep do the integration work of the day for me. One of these affirmations I said to...

Leaves falling in autumn

Discernment. Digesting. Integrating. All words I use to describe the energy of fall. It’s a time for letting go, clearing out, and releasing. ANDIt’s a time for gathering in, celebrating and gratitude. Both. Gathering in and letting go.Leaving changed. The brain can relate to this through the death and rebirth cycle of nature. It’s not linear, it’s cyclical. Many trees release leaves - creating spaciousness for the new.Others hold on - taking longer to process and let go.Both showing us how to...
